Kelcy Warren, co-founder and executive chairman of Energy Transfer, is a prominent figure in the oil and gas industry.

degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, he took a role at Lone Star
Gas Co. He later transitioned to Endevco, a pipeline and refining company,

connected with investors Ray C. Davis and Ben Cook, leading to the acquisition
and rebranding of Endevco. 

In 1996, Kelcy Warren and his partners founded Energy Transfer with about
200 miles of East Texas natural gas pipelines. Energy Transfer’s growth
accelerated in the early 2000s, particularly after the Enron collapse. During
this period, Warren capitalized on the sale of numerous pipeline assets,
acquiring significant portions of Aquila Inc., the TUFCO System, and the
Houston Pipeline System, among others. 

One of the most notable moments in Warren’s career was the 2012 acquisition of Sunoco, a
company where his father had worked as a pipeline field hand. This $5.3 billion
deal was both a strategic business move and a deeply personal milestone for Warren. 

Kelcy Warren’s strategic acquisitions didn’t stop there. In recent years, Energy
Transfer has further expanded its footprint through deals with companies like
Enable Midstream, Lotus Midstream, and Crestwood Equity Partners. These
acquisitions have bolstered Energy Transfer’s presence in key areas such as the
Permian Basin and the Bakken Shale.

on international markets and the burgeoning LNG and petrochemical sectors. His
