William F. Grieco has become a steady presence in healthcare governance, bringing decades of legal and compliance experience to Acadia Healthcare’s board since his appointment in November 2011. As behavioral health providers navigate tighter regulations and growing demand, Grieco’s blend of corporate counsel and boardroom experience offers a steadying influence on strategy and risk oversight.
Grieco’s career reflects long-term engagement with healthcare and technology companies. He has led Arcadia Strategies, LLC, a legal and business consulting firm serving healthcare, science and technology clients, since 2008. Earlier executive roles include senior vice president and general counsel positions at American Science and Engineering, Inc., from 2003 to 2008, and at IDX Systems Corporation in 2001–2002. From 1995 to 1999, he served as senior vice president and general counsel for Fresenius Medical Care North America, a major dialysis services and products company.
Before moving into corporate executive ranks, Grieco was a partner at Choate, Hall & Stewart, where he developed the transactional and regulatory foundation that would shape his later governance work. He also has a history of board service: he was a director of PHC, Inc., from February 1997 until November 2011, and since February 2011 has served on the board of Echo Therapeutics, Inc.
Grieco’s contributions to Acadia are rooted in regulatory navigation and compliance management. He also holds an active compliance leadership role as vice president and chief compliance officer at NX Development Corporation, the U.S. life sciences affiliate of SBI Holdings.
